Patient Account Representative

Overview Department : Patient Accounting Schedule : Full Time, 40 Hours Facility : Central Maine Medical Center Location : 29 Lowell Street, Lewiston, Maine, 04240 Central Maine Healthcare (CMH), a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine through a network of more than 40 primary and specialty care locations. To learn more, visit Responsibilities Reviews all patient charts for accuracy of patient and billing information. Distribution of all billing to appropriate personnel. Reviews and performs follow‑up on all authorizations, specialty referrals, and Dr.’s dictated notes. Communicates clearly and efficiently by telephone. Maintains a current knowledge of contracts and state Worker’s Compensation fee schedules. Operates a computer to input and retrieve data. Qualifications 1. High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires) 2. Knowledge of multiple insurance billing requirements 3. 1-2 years of Business office experience preferred 4. Knowledge of medical terminology 5. Effective written and verbal communication skills 6. Ability to multi‑task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines 7. Analytical and problem‑solving skills 8. Customer Services experience required

Pay Transparency Central Maine Healthcare Corporation offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $20.00 to $25.00 per hour.
