Controller

We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead the accounting operations for a pharmacy division within a privately held organization in Nassau County New York. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing month-end activities, and delivering clear insight into financial performance. The position also provides day-to-day leadership to a small accounting team and works closely with external accounting partners to support reporting and compliance.Responsibilities:• Direct the preparation and review of financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.• Oversee profit and loss reporting, analyze balance sheet activity, and monitor the integrity of the general ledger.• Manage the month-end and period-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.• Coordinate accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to support efficient cash flow and accurate recordkeeping.• Partner with external accounting advisors to address reporting needs, compliance matters, and audit-related requests.• Supervise and mentor a small accounting staff, setting priorities and maintaining high standards for daily operations.• Use NetSuite and Microsoft Excel to support reporting, perform financial analysis, and maintain accounting documentation.• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and provide insight into operating results for division leadership.
