Description:Position Summary

The Quality Food Safety Coordinator supports and maintains all food safety, quality assurance, sanitation, and regulatory compliance programs within the facility. This role helps ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and third-party audit standards while promoting a strong food safety culture throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Food Safety, Food Defense, GMP, and Quality Assurance programs.
• Assist with customer complaints, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Monitor Environmental Pathogen, Preventive Controls, and CCP programs.
• Support compliance with SQF, AIB, FDA, USDA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Conduct facility inspections, audits, and traceability exercises.
• Maintain food safety documentation and document control systems.
• Assist with HACCP, GMP, allergen, hygiene, and food safety training for associates and management.
• Work with departments to maintain supplier compliance documentation and quality records.
• Monitor pest control and chemical control programs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to food safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Food Science, Food Safety, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field.
• 0–4 years of experience in food manufacturing, food safety, sanitation, or quality assurance.
• GFSI experience such as SQF or BRC preferred.
• HACCP, PCQI, Food Defense, or Sanitation training preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Food Science, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field.
• 0–4 years of experience in food manufacturing, food safety, sanitation, or quality assurance.
• Experience with GFSI certification programs such as SQF or BRC preferred.
• HACCP, PCQI, Food Defense, and/or Sanitation training or certification preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Technical Knowledge

• Understanding of GMPs, HACCP, Preventive Controls, allergen control, sanitation, and food defense programs.
• Knowledge of FDA, USDA, SQF, AIB, and other regulatory or third-party audit requirements.
• Ability to interpret food safety procedures, quality standards, and compliance documentation.
• Experience maintaining records, conducting audits, and supporting traceability programs.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to work in a food manufacturing environment while following all food safety and safety regulations.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility during inspections and audits.
• Ability to adjust schedule and work hours based on operational needs.
• Must be able to work on-site and interact with production, sanitation, maintenance, and management teams daily.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience participating in internal or external food safety audits.
• Experience with environmental monitoring programs and corrective action systems.
• Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
• Experience in document control and regulatory compliance management preferred.
