• 4 × 10-Hour Shifts
• 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 40 Hours Per Week
• On-Call Required

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join a fast-paced Operating Room supporting a wide range of surgical specialties. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care while maintaining strict sterile technique throughout surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to aseptic standards throughout all surgical cases.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating instrument and supply needs.
• Perform surgical counts and ensure accurate specimen handling and labeling.
• Support procedures across multiple specialties, including General Surgery, Vascular, ENT, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, OB/GYN, Urology, Thoracic, Robotics, Plastics, and Podiatry.
• Assist with laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgeries, including Da Vinci Xi procedures.
• Follow Universal Protocol (Time Out), infection prevention practices, and sharps safety guidelines.
• Participate in decontamination and sterilization processes as needed.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
• Participate in scheduled on-call rotations, including weekends and holidays.

Required QualificationsEducation

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred.

Certifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
• Exception: Surgical Technologists who practiced in New York prior to 2015 may qualify without CST based on state guidelines.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of recent Operating Room experience preferred.
• Experience in multiple surgical specialties, including:
  • General Surgery
  • Vascular Surgery
  • ENT
  • Neurosurgery
  • Orthopedics
  • OB/GYN
  • Urology
  • Thoracic Surgery
  • Plastic Surgery
  • Podiatry
  • Robotic Surgery (Da Vinci Xi)
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, specimen handling, and sterilization practices.
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
• Previous travel assignment experience preferred.
