Lab Assistant - Microbiology

Labcorp seeks a Lab Assistant for night shift work in Phoenix, Arizona, performing specimen processing, data entry, and equipment maintenance in a clinical laboratory setting. The role requires high school completion and preferred experience in laboratory or production environments.
Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and prepare clinical specimens for testing and analysis
- Perform data entry and scanning of specimen and patient information
- Monitor lab equipment functionality and conduct minor maintenance tasks
- Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and maintain adequate supply levels
- Maintain clean and safe work environment while following standard operating procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Comfort handling biological specimens including blood, urine, and tissue
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
- Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
- Preferred: one or more years laboratory, assembly, or production experience
- Preferred: experience with laboratory information systems or electronic medical records
