Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiology Scheduler, you will orchestrate a seamless and efficient care process for patients and providers by coordinating appointments and managing schedules.

Every day you will schedule patient appointments and coordinate multiple provider schedules for medical procedures, tests, and studies. You'll ensure timely scheduling through effective communication, accurately gather and verify patient insurance and documentation, process reports, and provide exceptional customer service to patients via phone and in-clinic assistance.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and excellent communication and reasoning skills to manage scheduling complexities and patient inquiries, always striving for accuracy and efficiency.

• Schedules patients for department services or studies based on physician referral.
• Calls patients to set up and confirm appointments; follows up to ensure that each referral is contacted and a disposition is reached; records cancellations and reschedules time slot.
• Answers, screens and directs telephone calls.
• Provides information in response to general inquiries from patients, visitors, staff and others.
• Performs related general office/clerical support duties.
• Transfers patient data to internal forms, and faxes paperwork to Admitting for patient pre-registration.

Job Requirements

Required

• One year of related work experience or any combination of experience and education that would demonstrate the capability to perform the required knowledge, skills and abilities position.

Preferred

• Knowledge of medical terminology obtained through formal education or previous healthcare work experience.
