Our Client Is Seeking A Detail-Oriented Senior Staff Accountant To Support A Growing And Collaborative Finance Team Within A Dynamic, Project-Driven Organization.

This role will be responsible for core accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, financial reporting, month-end close activities, audit support, and budgeting assistance. The position will work closely with operational and project teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations, and identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies. This hybrid opportunity offers strong visibility across the organization and the ability to contribute to strategic financial initiatives.

Worksite Location: St. Paul, MN – Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)

Salary Range: $70,000 – $110,000 annually

Roles And Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts while ensuring accounting entries are accurate and properly supported
• Lead and support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, depreciation, and amortization
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for leadership and internal stakeholders
• Assist with management reporting and financial analysis to support business decision-making
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements, including government contracting standards where applicable
• Process and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense reports, and customer/vendor balances
• Monitor aging reports and assist with collections and outstanding account follow-up as needed
• Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions while researching and resolving discrepancies
• Support internal and external audit activities by preparing schedules, documentation, and requested analyses
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
• Analyze financial trends and provide insights related to operational performance and cost management opportunities
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, workflow efficiencies, and stronger internal controls
• Support implementation of accounting process enhancements and automation initiatives
• Collaborate cross-functionally with project and operational teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information
• Mentor or provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed
• Participate in special projects and additional accounting initiatives as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong exposure to general ledger accounting and month-end close processes
• Solid understanding of GAAP and experience working within a regulated or compliance-driven environment
• Familiarity with CAS, DCAA, and FAR regulations strongly preferred
• Demonstrated experience preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Strong experience with reconciliations, accruals, complex journal entries, depreciation, and amortization accounting
• Experience supporting internal and external audits and preparing supporting documentation
• Ability to perform variance analysis and provide meaningful financial insights to leadership
• Experience assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Strong understanding of internal controls and continuous process improvement initiatives
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and financial data analysis
• Experience working within ERP or accounting systems
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively across departments
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion with confidential information
