Senior Collaboration Platform Engineer, Zoom or Google Workspace

Provides senior-level technical leadership in the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise collaboration platforms, with a primary focus on Zoom or Google Workspace. Owns platform architecture, standards, and operational maturity for critical collaboration and productivity services in a highly regulated financial services environment. Leads resolution of complex, cross-domain issues and drives improvements in platform performance, reliability, and user experience. Drives root-cause analysis and corrective actions; partners across security, network, identity, and end-user computing teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable collaboration platform services. Designs, implements, and owns enterprise collaboration platforms such as Zoom or Google Workspace to meet business, regulatory, and operational requirements. Identifies systemic gaps and opportunities to improve resiliency, performance, and user experience. Defines and enforces platform architecture and technical standards, influencing design decisions across network, security, identity, and end-user computing teams. Ensures alignment with enterprise controls including firewall/proxy rules, certificates/TLS, conditional access, logging, and monitoring. Leads end-to-end implementation initiatives, including requirements gathering, solution design, pilot execution, production rollout, and operational handoff. Manages change control processes and provides post-deployment support. Evaluates platform capabilities, vendor offerings, and roadmaps with consideration for security, compliance, scalability, availability, and user experience. Recommends platform improvements and drives adoption of strategic capabilities. Develops and maintains operational documentation, including runbooks, governance standards, and incident/problem management procedures. Mentors junior engineers and provides escalation support. Performs systems analysis, including requirements definition and logical/physical design for collaboration platforms. Ensures solutions meet enterprise risk, compliance, and availability expectations. Participates in special projects and cross-functional initiatives supporting collaboration platform reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. Qualifications Minimum of eight years related work experience. Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience. In depth experience in collaboration engineering or adjacent enterprise platform roles with ownership of production platforms. Hands‑on experience administering and troubleshooting enterprise collaboration platforms such as Zoom, Webex, Google Workspace, or similar cloud-based communication and productivity services. Demonstrated technical leadership with the ability to set standards, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and drive sound engineering decisions without direct authority. Strong troubleshooting skills across endpoints, identity, networking, security, and cloud services, with proven experience in incident response and root cause analysis. Broad foundational knowledge of networking and security concepts, including DNS/DHCP, routing, firewalls/proxies, VPN, certificates/TLS, SSO/MFA, and conditional access. Experience leading complex implementations and platform improvements through risk assessment, change management, and stakeholder communication. Proven ability to support high‑availability production services in regulated environments using structured change, incident, and problem management practices. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders and produce clear documentation and operational runbooks.
