Revenue Cycle Analyst (System Application Analyst)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Revenue Cycle Analyst (System Application Analyst) based in the United States.

This role supports the intersection of healthcare operations, revenue integrity, data analysis, and enterprise technology. You’ll provide technical expertise across the analysis, design, configuration, testing, maintenance, and optimization of Epic Hospital Resolute and related revenue cycle systems. The position offers significant autonomy while supporting complex clinical departments and operational workflows. You’ll help ensure accurate charge capture, efficient billing processes, compliant workflows, and timely identification of revenue opportunities. Working closely with clinical, financial, technology, and revenue cycle stakeholders, you’ll translate operational needs into effective system solutions. The role combines hands-on application analysis with auditing, troubleshooting, reporting, training, and continuous process improvement. This is a full-time remote opportunity with a Monday–Friday schedule and a strong focus on collaboration, service quality, and measurable operational impact. \n

Accountabilities:

Analyze, design, validate, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain Epic Hospital Resolute and related revenue cycle applications and systems.

Develop and document application functionality, workflows, interfaces, and system solutions that support accurate and compliant charge capture.

Translate clinical and operational requirements into system designs, testing strategies, implementation plans, and sustainable workflow improvements.

Develop and execute test plans, analyze test results, identify deficiencies, and coordinate corrective actions through implementation.

Maintain a detailed understanding of departmental business processes and how Epic applications support patient care, charging, billing, and revenue cycle activities.

Periodically assess application functionality and operational workflows to identify system or process deficiencies and recommend improvements.

Extract, manipulate, and analyze financial and clinical data from multiple sources to support revenue integrity and operational decision-making.

Monitor productivity, charge lag, charge volume, work queues, and other revenue cycle indicators to identify backlogs, pending charges, and potential revenue opportunities.

Investigate charge-related issues, late charges, missing elements, and revenue integrity concerns, escalating issues appropriately and addressing root causes to prevent recurrence.

Provide training and education to managers and staff on revenue cycle processes, charge entry, charge codes, billing requirements, and related system functionality.

Serve as a liaison among clinical departments, financial services, information technology, patient business services, health information services, and other stakeholders involved in charge capture.

Collaborate with technical and operational partners to resolve charging issues, identify revenue opportunities, and improve end-to-end workflows.

Participate in workflow meetings, revenue cycle initiatives, system projects, and process improvement activities as assigned.

Maintain current knowledge of applicable billing regulations, coding requirements, and system changes, communicating relevant updates to stakeholders.

Promote a customer-focused approach while supporting revenue cycle projects and broader operational objectives.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, or a clinical field plus 2 years of relevant IT or healthcare operational experience; or a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of relevant experience; or an Associate’s degree plus 5 years of relevant experience; or 6 years of relevant experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.

Working knowledge of hospital operations and patient care processes.

Strong data-analysis capabilities and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Experience working with healthcare information technology, clinical operations, financial systems, or enterprise application environments.

Ability to analyze complex system and workflow issues and translate user needs into practical technology solutions.

Strong understanding of revenue cycle processes, charge capture, billing workflows, and related operational dependencies is highly valuable.

Ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy, demonstrating initiative, creativity, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to problem resolution.

Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex assignments while meeting deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clinical, financial, technical, and administrative stakeholders.

Ability to diagnose system issues based on user requirements and work collaboratively toward effective solutions.

Ability to manage and interpret comprehensive datasets, financial information, reports, and analytical worksheets.

Epic certification is preferred, particularly current Epic Resolute Hospital Billing certification.

Experience implementing or supporting integrated enterprise hospital systems, preferably Epic, is preferred.

Experience implementing technology that has supported significant workflow or operational changes within healthcare environments is advantageous.

Working knowledge or hands-on experience with the Epic Resolute Hospital Billing application is strongly preferred.

Experience with revenue integrity, charge reconciliation, charge routing, billing operations, or healthcare financial analysis is beneficial.

$97,378–$147,456 per year, with offers based on experience, education, and internal equity.
