Local News Producer KCCI, the CBS affiliate in Des Moines, is looking for a Local News Producer who knows how to create meaningful and memorable newscasts. Creative vision, decisive communication, and the ability to win big stories, own breaking news, and display important weather information are essential. The role requires fast‑paced teamwork and accuracy, reporting to the News Director. Responsibilities Select, research, and write content for live newscasts to make the newscast an "experience" for viewers Coordinate with digital and assignment desk teams to ensure consistent coverage across broadcast and online platforms Work with and guide reporters in story production Coordinate creative vision with team of anchors, reporters, meteorologists, photographers, editors, and production staff Booting assigned newscasts, breaking news and weather events Live timing newscasts Requirements Professional or college producing experience Experience working in a newsroom Strong writing and copy‑editing skills Coordinate several crews and responsibilities simultaneously Experience summarizing information into easy‑to‑understand components Creative presentation style, and ability to showcase all resources and elements Highest journalistic integrity and ethical standards Must be available to work holidays, night, weekend, overnight shifts and flexible during breaking news Related military experience will be considered Benefits Medical | Dental | Vision 401(k) matching Emotional Wellness Support Paid Time Off Paid Parental Leave LGBTQ+ Health Services Additional benefits to meet your and your family's needs #J-18808-Ljbffr National Association Of Black Journalists Inc
