This position will be a temporary role supporting the Accounting team from now until the end of the year. Looking for someone to support general AP/AR tasks as the team is understaffed and needs someone that can jump in to support. This role will be a support person.100% onsite for training - will have the opportunity to work from home Thursday and Friday once they are working on their own and outside of training.Daily Duties:Will support the team with general Accounts payable and Accounts receivable tasks on the Claims Accounting team.Assist with weekly claims and posting cash entries and providing general accounting support.Looking for someone that can catch on quickly and provide support with little support! Also would love an individual to come in with some experience to provide advice around efficiencies and process changes as this is a big focus for the team.We need someone that can come in and pick up quickly. The work is transactional, but we wouldn't want someone entry level. I think A/P, A/R experience would both be Beneficial, but I think if they have one they could pick up on either. Also - there is a lot of room for efficiency, so someone who likes to makes process efficient would be welcomed!Responsibilities:Process weekly and ad hoc accounts payable transactions including verifying documentation and ensuring proper financial statement classification. Process or provide backup for the weekly claims check run and balance to vendor check registers. Post all cash entries to balance spreadsheet. Post refunds processed through accounts payable or electronic banking to proper accounts in HDS system and Softheon. Analyze Individual customer accounts and prepare refunds as appropriate. Prepare daily deposit and post all manual cash received and complete cash balancing. Manage company credit card processing to include providing statements to staff, requesting new credit cards, and adjusting credit limits as requested. Review and correct Softheon error queue to ensure proper posting of payments in Softheon system. Prepare journal account entries by compiling and analyzing account information from multiple sources. Analyze data for Prompt Pay Payments to determine payments due as applicable according to the guidelines established by the State of Iowa. Analyze, prepare, and complete Escheat Filing with all states, including preparation and processing of due diligence letters and uncashed check letters. Assist with external audits, including work paper preparation. Prepare Accounting documents to be scanned by mailroom and filed.

This is a Contract position based out of Johnston, IA.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
