Plant Maintenance Mechanical / Electrical Technician Eastern Metal Works - Milford, CT

Main responsibility is to keep the production equipment running safely, correctly and efficiently at all times. In addition to this they must maintain the appearance of the plant and surrounding grounds.  REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION :

• Be self motivated and demonstrate a cooperative nature.
• Be familiar with the safe use of all tools (hand and power)
• Must be able to troubleshoot digital and analogue control systems.
• Must be familiar with the use and application of CNC. controllers
• Must have a rounded knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and steam systems.
• Must be able to read engineering schematics (electrical and mechanical).
• Must be able to quickly identify and repair problems on all production equipment.
• Must be capable of assimilating new technology.
• Must possess reasonable communication skills (written and verbal).
• Should possess a good level of physical fitness. It is necessary to lift, bend and stand for long period of time.
• Must be capable of using all types of testing and recording equipment.
• Should be familiar with all safety procedures including but not limited to lockout/ tagout.
• Manual dexterity is a requirement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Respond to service request calls made by production staff on a priority basis
• Ensure that safety standards and precautions are followed.
• Utilize lockout/tagout procedure.
• Ensure all repairs are made in a safe and permanent manner.
• Report any safety or equipment concerns to senior management.
• Report any incorrect operating practices to senior management.
• Responsible for the opening and closing of the plant on a daily basis.
• Must ensure that all equipment is running correctly both prior to and after production.
• Assist in the monitoring of utilities and energy source
• Follows instructions/directions of Chief Engineer.
• SALARY RANGE : depending on experience
