Job Title: ER Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day/Evening Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Must have license in hand Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience - Ability to triage after review of policies and procedures - Experience with variable diagnoses including trauma, stroke, and other emergency conditions Description: The role involves working in a fast-paced emergency room environment. The average number of patients treated daily is between 40-60. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:3-4 during day shifts. During nighttime, the ratio may increase depending on circumstances. The emergency department consists of 14 beds and 2 trauma bays. There are designated triage areas and a fast track for less critical patients. Security is available but not in-house 24/7; local law enforcement assists if necessary. The department operates with a central monitoring system, and RNs are responsible for monitoring. Phlebotomy services are available 24/7. Shifts are scheduled to minimize disruptions like alternating shifts. Weekend and holiday commitments are required as part of the role. Nurses are expected to float to inpatient areas to assist as needed. A clean, professional dress code is required for all staff. The orientation includes computer-based training and floor-based instruction related to department policies. All nursing staff must clock in and out daily.
