REQUIREMENTS

Must speak English and a second language (Spanish, Arabic, Farsi, Dari is preferred). Must have a valid Oregon driver’s license, verification of car insurance, and use of a vehicle during work hours.

PROGRAM SUMMARY

IRCO Washington County Supportive Housing Services works to provide the highest quality of housing case management services to participants currently experiencing homelessness and housing instability who are eligible for supportive housing funded through the Metro Supportive Housing Program in Washington County.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Housing Case Manager Support Specialist is both site and field based. This Interim Supportive Housing Case Manager will perform basic tasks to support other case managers, including contacting clients, completing written and electronic forms, and other duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Working effectively with other supportive case managers, establishing professional relationships, and working as a team. Establish a working professional relationship with participants. Assist other case managers with contacting clients via phone or email. Conduct assessments, contact participants, and assist with office duties. Deliver checks to property management companies. Pick up checks at IRCO Main office and deliver them to Greater Middle East Center (GMEC) office.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

Ability to meet multiple, including conflicting deadlines. Maintain a high level of confidentiality. Work flexible hours to meet the availability of clients. Input client service transactions and client expense documents in a timely manner.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

MINIMUM JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree in human service or related field and minimum of 2 years of experience providing related services to a similar population. Bachelor’s degree in human service or related field and minimum of 1 year of experience providing services related to similar populations.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Hybrid setting job. Physical: Positions at this level require minimal physical effort such as light lifting, carrying or movement. Physical capability involves the use of office equipment where some agility and hand‑eye coordination is needed. Mental: Regular need for assessment of risk, analysis of options, and decisions without complete information. Environment: Moderately low level of personal risk. Job conditions are occasionally uncomfortable relative to noise, temperature, inside/outside work, dirty conditions, or interactions with angry or hostile people. Schedule: Work schedule occasionally fluctuates based on organization or customer needs. This fluctuation may occur with or without prior notice.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Positions at this level are not responsible for any supervisory functions or responsibilities but may occasionally be asked to orient and/or train new employees or volunteers.
