Inventory Management Specialist I - 1st Shift

Inventory Management Specialist role at Thermo Fisher Scientific supporting Unity Lab Services. The position involves managing inventory operations using electronic systems and mobile scanning tools, with responsibilities including stock management, customer communication, and warehouse operations on a first shift schedule in Indianapolis.

Responsibilities

Use RF scanners and mobile apps for replenishments, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry, and backorder processing
Receive, inspect, scan, and store shipments while maintaining accurate inventory records
Respond to customer inquiries via email and phone to resolve questions and support internal partners
Monitor stock levels proactively and flag gaps or issues to prevent operational disruptions
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to identify and implement workflow improvements

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
0–1 years customer-facing, retail stocking, warehouse, or inventory-control experience
Proficiency with RF handheld scanners and mobile scanning applications
Strong verbal and written English communication skills, particularly email
Ability to lift 30–40 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
Comfortable working independently at customer sites with chemical allergen exposure

Compensation: $18.40
