Job Title: Retail Store Team Leader Location: New York, NY Type: Contract (approx. 5 months- possible extension) Compensation: $25.00 Contractor Work Model: Onsite Hours: Flexible availability to work within store operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays Overview Join the excitement of a limited-time anime and manga pop-up shop. We're looking for an energetic Retail Store Team Leader who enjoys engaging with customers, supporting store operations, and helping lead a team in a fun, high-energy retail environment. Whether you're a fan of anime and manga or simply love unique retail experiences and pop-up events, this is a great opportunity to be part of something special. Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with product recommendations and purchases
• Operate POS system and handle cash/card transactions accurately
• Restock merchandise and maintain organized, visually appealing displays
• Keep the store clean, organized, and welcoming
• Assist in leading, coaching, and supervising a team of Sales Associates to ensure excellent customer service and store operations
• Support scheduling, task delegation, and day-to-day team coordination as directed by management
• Follow store policies and supervisor direction
• Report any issues, concerns, or incidents promptly

Requirements

• Previous retail, customer service, or sales experience required
• Prior experience as a Team Lead, Shift Lead, Key Holder, Supervisor, or in a similar leadership role preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in a fast-paced retail environment
• Friendly, outgoing, and dependable with a positive attitude
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask and remain on your feet for extended periods
• Team player with respect for a diverse customer base
• Interest in anime, manga, or pop culture is a plus (not required)
• Japanese language skills are a plus
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
