Old Scratch Pizza is growing, and we're looking for a part-time Recruiting Coordinator to help us find great people to join our teams. This is a fast-paced, high-volume recruiting position for someone who enjoys talking with people, can move quickly through a large applicant pool, and knows how to keep candidates moving through the hiring process.

Position Summary:

The Recruiting Coordinator supports recruiting across Old Scratch Pizza locations. This position is responsible for reviewing applicants, conducting candidate outreach and first-round interviews, identifying candidates who meet established position requirements, and scheduling qualified candidates directly for second-round interviews with restaurant leadership.

This is a high-call-volume position, particularly during peak hiring periods. The Recruiting Coordinator will spend a significant portion of the workday communicating with applicants by phone and is responsible for keeping the candidate pipeline moving quickly and efficiently.

The Recruiting Coordinator works closely with restaurant managers to understand current hiring needs and priorities but does not own the full recruiting cycle or make final hiring decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review incoming applications and resumes for restaurant positions
• Make a pre-scheduled high volume of outbound calls to applicants (no cold calls)
• Conduct first-round phone interviews using established interview guidelines
• Evaluate candidate qualifications, availability, experience, and interest based on established position requirements
• Schedule qualified candidates directly for second-round interviews on restaurant managers' interview calendars
• Maintain timely communication and follow-up with candidates throughout the recruiting process
• Maintain accurate candidate records
• Post and maintain job advertisements across appropriate recruiting platforms
• Monitor applicant flow and help maintain an active candidate pipeline
• Communicate regularly with restaurant managers regarding current and upcoming staffing needs
• Assist with candidate sourcing and recruiting outreach as needed
• Work closely with the Onboarding Specialist to support a smooth transition from candidate to new hire
• Serve as backup for the Onboarding Specialist during vacations and other absences
• Assist the HR Director with recruiting, administrative, and other HR-related projects as needed
• Maintain confidentiality of applicant, employee, and company information

What We're Looking For:

We prefer candidates with at least 1–2 years of experience in recruiting, staffing, or talent acquisition.

We are most successful with team members who demonstrate:

• Excellent phone and interpersonal communication skills
• Comfort making and receiving a high volume of candidate calls throughout the workday
• Experience conducting candidate screenings or first-round interviews
• Ability to quickly evaluate candidates against established position requirements
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
• Ability to manage a large candidate pipeline without letting applicants fall through the cracks
• Confidence working independently and making routine recruiting decisions within established guidelines
• Ability to move quickly and shift priorities based on changing staffing needs
• A friendly, professional, and engaging communication style
• Comfort learning and working within applicant tracking, scheduling, and HR systems
• Good judgment when handling confidential information
• Restaurant, hospitality, retail, staffing, or other high-volume recruiting experience is a plus

Schedule:

This is a primarily remote position based in the Dayton, Ohio area. The typical schedule is expected to be approximately 1:00 pm–6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, for a total of approximately 20–25 hours per week.

Some flexibility may be needed based on candidate availability, hiring activity, or business needs. Additional hours may be available during high-volume hiring periods, new restaurant openings, or as Old Scratch Pizza continues to grow.

This position requires frequent phone and computer use and the ability to remain organized and productive while independently managing a high volume of candidate activity.

Occasional in-person meetings, training, or support at Old Scratch Pizza locations may be required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements: This position is primarily remote and requires frequent phone and computer-based work. The work environment and requirements include:

• Extended periods of sitting and computer use
• Frequent use of a telephone, computer, keyboard, and other standard office equipment
• High-volume phone communication with applicants, particularly during peak hiring periods
• Regular verbal and written communication with candidates, managers, and members of the HR team
• Ability to manage multiple conversations, interviews, calendars, and recruiting priorities throughout the workday
• Ability to work independently and maintain productivity in a remote environment
• Ability to access reliable internet and maintain an appropriate environment for conducting professional candidate interviews and calls
• Occasional travel to Old Scratch Pizza locations in the Dayton area for meetings, training, or business needs
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to maintain a quiet, professional, and distraction-free remote work environment suitable for frequent candidate calls and interviews.
