Leads the effort to initiate new product strategies in the form of supporting existing brands and/or sub-segment and creating new products. Evaluates the needs of product marketing and sales personnel on a global basis and initiates strategies that meet regional and worldwide requirements.Leads upstream product management activities including voice of customer research, market segmentation, unmet need identification, concept evaluation, product requirements definition, and business case development to drive the innovation pipeline. Supports 3-5 year portfolio strategies and product roadmaps aligned to customer needs, market trends, competitive dynamics, and business growth objectives.How You'll Create ImpactLeads the marketing development effort to bring new products from concept through commercialization including market exitOwn assigned Sports Medicine product portfolios and responsible for strategy, growth, and lifecycle management.Actively participates in assigned project teams and lead upstream product management activities including voice of customer research, market assessment, unmet need identification, customer segmentation, and concept development.Works across multiple internal and external cross-functional teams to bring new products from concept through development, commercialization, and eventual end-of-life management.Drive cross-functional commercialization planning including launch strategy, pricing strategy, forecasting, market readiness, sales enablement, surgeon education, inventory planning, and post-launch performance monitoring.Maintains high level of product category knowledge through staying current in published information, regional market contacts, surgeon interaction, and industry educational meetings.Support product and portfolio roadmaps and creation of business cases that support short- and long-term portfolio growth objectives.Monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue growth, profitability, market share, and customer adoption.Ensures execution of key strategies for the brand and/ or sub-segment levelInteract closely with Marcom teams to define clear messaging for the brands/sub-segmentsDefine clinical evidence plan with the clinical strategic lead for the bands and/or sub-segment.This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and might not necessarily comprise all of the essential functions for purposes of the Americans with Disabilities Act.What Makes You Stand Out• Uses knowledge of existing products, new developments and market needs to formulate strategic and creative marketing plans. • Showcase a firm understanding of financial trends and performance in specific brand lines. Ability to own business performance metrics including revenue growth, market share, profitability, pricing strategy, and forecast accuracy for assigned brands and product segments. • Prepares forecasts and identify market shifts and threats. • Uses and understands technical medical language to interact with internal and external customers. Translates technical language and discusses it internally in business terms. • Assess brand viability relative to existing products with new product offerings to enhance overall brand offering. Champions the brand through a comprehensive understanding of customer and end-user needs and product positioning relative to the competition. • Utilize market data, customer insights, competitive intelligence, procedure trends, and financial performance metrics to drive decision making. • Demonstrate ability to build and maintains long-term relationships with high level surgical consultants, key strategic customers and regional sales teams to promote and support the Zimmer brands.Your Background• B.A./B.S. required, preferably including formal studies in Business or Engineering • 6-8 years of marketing experience required, prior internship/co-op within medical device preferred. • Orthopaedic experience is preferred. • Experience in both Sales and Commercial Marketing is preferred.Physical RequirementsTravel ExpectationsUp to 40%Ideal candidate will be located within driving distance to Warsaw, IN.Expected Compensation Range: $125,000 - $157,000EOE/M/F/Vet/Disability
