We pride ourselves on fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability.RoleThe purpose of this role is to support the AML Operations Manager and the Global Head of AML and Sanctions Compliance in implementing the Firm-wide Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and sanctions programme and undertake Client Due Diligence (CDD) checks on clients. The role will involve assessing clients and their matters to ensure compliance with applicable AML legislation and to advise the Firm on financial crime and other risk issues. Accountabilities and ResponsibilitiesUndertaking and handling all types of Client Due diligence (CDD) Review and assess the risks of all new clients and matters from AML, sanctions and reputational risks perspective;Undertaking client and matter risk assessmentsUndertaking sanctions screening updates;Assisting with the ongoing monitoring of clients and matters Advising on sanctions, professional ethical obligations, matter and billing structure, engagement terms and inter-office working arrangementsProviding a 'concierge' service to partners by liaising with clients directly on AML and sanctions issues, either in person, on the phone or in writing.Managing all stages of the matter opening process and escalate any issues as necessaryAssists with the firm's internal audit processes;Dealing with basic data protection queries relevant to AMLAssisting with AML and Sanctions training to the FirmReviewing and updating Dentons' internal compliance policies and proceduresAssisting with projects and ad hoc assignments as requiredThe above list is not exhaustive as the team and the firm continue to evolve and develop with the changing domestic and international legal landscapes and as we identify new ways of improving our service to the firm.More important than any particular skill, we are looking for dynamic and flexible team players with highly developed critical thinking who can assess legal and commercial risks presented to the firm and advise on appropriate mitigation strategies.- As this role supports UK region please note that it requires operating within UK time-zone therefore working hours are from 10 am – 6 pm- This role operates in Hybrid working model requiring DBSE Warsaw office presence 1-2 times a weekRequirementsTechnical SkillsRelevant University Degree1-2 years legal or compliance experience working in a law firm or a professional services environment.
