No Job Description Summary Performs a variety of mechanical tasks related to performing general maintenance on university buildings 1st shift (Wed-Sat) 5:00am-3:30pm Job Description Essential Duties Reviews work orders and investigates site; determines proper repair procedures; estimates time and materials needed. Performs repair work; replaces tile; repairs doors and window; unstops sinks and other plumbing fixtures; repairs steam valves; replaces motors and pumps on heating/air conditioning equipment; repairs electric switches and receptacles. Serves as informational resource to staff. Plans and conducts a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. Cleans and maintains tools and equipment. May assist in setting up of stages, rigging, curtains, and lighting system for special events. Minimum Qualifications Requires six months of mechanical/trade training beyond high school and two years of repair/maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; requires driver's license.
