Key Qualifications:

• Experience as a paraprofessional, especially within school settings
• Understanding of the unique dynamics of self-contained classrooms
• Ability to provide academic and behavioral support to students with diverse needs
• Strong organizational skills and adaptability in a dynamic classroom environment
• Effective communication and collaboration with certified teachers and support staff
• A high school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant training or certification preferred

Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher with day-to-day instructional activities and classroom management
• Provide individualized support and encouragement to students to help them meet their goals
• Assist with implementing behavior plans and support positive social development
• Prepare materials and help maintain an organized, safe classroom environment
• Support students during classroom instruction, activities, lunch, and transitions
• Document student progress and report observations to teaching staff as needed
