Based in New York City area, NY

Job Title: Principal Program Coordinator 
Salary Range: $105,000 – $106,209

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Coordinate labor-unit education programs at Union Headquarters and at off-site locations to ensure their efficient operation and maximum performance.
• Supervise personnel associated with assigned academic programs.
• Organize and conduct program related training, informational sessions, and workshops, such as shop steward training and leadership conferences.
• Interview candidates for teaching positions and make hiring recommendations.
• Evaluate and improve assigned programs in collaboration with unit Assistant Director.
• Perform periodic classroom observations as well as regular evaluations of programs, instructors and/or students.
• Regularly prepare detailed correspondence, memorandums and reports on program activities.
• Maintain accurate program files and records as well as document program activity as needed.
• Use Microsoft Excel and other software to analyze and present program data from internal and external sources.
• Create data visualization reports for the unit and Administrator for program management.
• Develop and implement efficient database, digital, and record keeping systems.
• Prepare proposals, contracts and other correspondence.
• Represent the Education Fund and participate in other activities when assigned.

The regular work week for this position is Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm. However, evening and weekend work will be required on a regular basis with notice. The individual will also be required to participate in union conferences located outside of New York.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Applicants should possess knowledge of current adult education training methodologies and pedagogies, workforce development, diagnostic assessment tools and union/labor functions, specifically collective bargaining agreements.
• The individual should possess the ability to work independently, make decisions, complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and function as a member of the unit in meeting deadlines.
• Strong soft skills as well as supervision, writing, public speaking, presentation and organization skills are required.
• Candidate must have extensive knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and video conferencing applications such as Zoom, Webex and Microsoft Teams.
• Experience with basic budgeting, working with a LMS as well as software such as Adobe InDesign, Affinity Publisher or Canvas is a plus.
