Organization Description: The Schenectady Greenmarket is a regional farmers market that brings together vendors, shoppers, musicians, and community members in a vibrant, inclusive setting. Role Overview (Full Time) The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief administrator of the Schenectady Greenmarket. This leadership role is responsible for the organization's strategic direction, financial health, and long-term sustainability. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Board Relations Implement and coordinate Board policies and actions to ensure long-term organizational effectiveness. Collaborate with the Board Chair to develop meeting agendas and set organizational priorities and goals. Prepare regular written repots to the Board concerning activities Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships and community collaborations that support the market's mission. Finance & Development Drive revenue growth through diversified fundraising activities, grant applications, and sponsorship outreach. Manage donor relations, ensuring all sponsors and contributors are appropriately recognized. Oversee financial reporting in collaboration with the Treasurer and accountants, including annual budget reviews and weekly deposits. Coordinate fundraising events with the support of staff, volunteers, and the Board. Operations & Human Resources Supervise, mentor, and train market staff, including managing performance evaluations, HR policies, and payroll. Oversee market software and processes (MMM, Donor Snap) and provide operational coverage for the Market Manager as needed. Develop and manage volunteer recruitment, training, and recognition programs. Manage contracts, permits, and MOUs with the City of Schenectady, landlords, and partner organizations. Resolve complex vendor issues and coordinate with promotions firms for market events and announcements. Other Duties—as assigned Preferred Qualifications Proven success in community outreach and an understanding of food system inequalities. Experience in writing grant proposals and doing follow-up grant reporting Strong leadership skills with experience managing remote teams and volunteers. Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations across race, gender, religion, and orientation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and standard management software. Flexibility to work varied schedules, including occasional Sundays and outdoor market conditions. Fluency in other languages (especially Spanish) and familiarity with farming practices are a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
