Embark on a rewarding contract assignment supporting elementary students as a School Social Worker for the upcoming academic term. This full-time opportunity begins August 12, 2026 and is expected to conclude November 4, 2026, with the potential to extend. Located conveniently near Aurora, this role focuses on engaging with a vibrant K-5 caseload in a supportive, collaborative school setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois School Social Worker (SSW) license and Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Previous experience working as a social worker within school environments preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively partner with students, families, and faculty
- Ability to manage a diverse elementary caseload and support a variety of student needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and promoting student well-being
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social-emotional support and counseling services to elementary students, grades K-5
- Develop, implement, and monitor social and behavioral interventions tailored to individual student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create strategies that promote academic and social success
- Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with district policies and ethical standards
- Contribute to a safe, positive, and nurturing school climate
All work will be performed onsite from 8:00 AM to 3:35 PM, Monday through Friday. As a valued member of the school community, you will play a critical role in ensuring students receive the support they need during key developmental years.
