Position Overview

We are seeking experienced commercial doors and hardware leader to personally manage key customer accounts, guide a portfolio of complex projects, and supervise a team responsible for day-to-day execution. This person will work directly on multiple accounts, set priorities, coach team members, provide technical and commercial direction, and ensure that customer commitments are met.

This position will work closely with the Senior Manager of Client and Vendor Relations, the Distribution Manager, and Director of Operations. The Senior National Accounts & Project Delivery Manager will establish performance goals, address operational bottlenecks, improve systems and workflows, and raise the bar on expectations on National Account performance. The role is accountable for account health, project profitability, technical accuracy, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction.

This is a hands-on leadership position . The successful candidate will remain involved in assigned major accounts and challenging projects while developing the people and processes needed to support growth.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Operational Improvement

• Supervise, coach, and develop team members supporting assigned accounts and projects.
• Assign work, set priorities, monitor capacity, and ensure that deadlines and customer commitments are clear.
• Review complex quotes, submittals, orders, and project decisions for technical accuracy and commercial soundness.
• Establish consistent expectations for follow-through, documentation, communication, and issue resolution.
• Partner with the Distribution Manager and Director to set goals, review results, identify bottlenecks, and improve workflows.
• Help strengthen onboarding, training, product knowledge, and accountability across the team.

Strategic Account and Portfolio Oversight

• Oversee active key accounts, serving as a senior point of contact for major opportunities and escalated issues.
• Build relationships with general contractors, developers, facilities teams, and other commercial customers.
• Understand each account’s standards, purchasing practices, project pipeline, and delivery expectations.
• Lead account and portfolio reviews covering schedules, open issues, service performance, upcoming demand, and growth opportunities.
• Partner with sales and leadership on major proposals, customer presentations, account retention, and expansion.

Project and Technical Leadership

• Direct complex commercial door, frame, and hardware projects from initial scope review and quotation through procurement, fulfillment, delivery, and closeout.
• Review architectural drawings, door schedules, hardware sets, specifications, and other construction documents; oversee Division 8/10 takeoffs as applicable.
• Guide product selection, quotes, submittals, proposed alternatives, RFIs, and scope clarifications.
• Identify specification conflicts, scope gaps, long-lead materials, and schedule risks before they affect the customer.
• Oversee submittal approvals, revisions, product releases, change orders, procurement milestones, and delivery commitments.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of key manufacturers, including Allegion, ASSA ABLOY, Hager, Special-Lite, and comparable product lines.

Commercial and Financial Accountability

• Work with Product Manager to monitor pricing, product costs, freight, substitutions, and changes to protect project margins.
• Ensure out-of-scope requests are documented and appropriately priced before additional work or materials are committed.
• Review account and project performance, including expected revenue, margins, open orders, unbilled items, credits, and returns.
• Work with accounting and management to resolve pricing discrepancies, invoice questions, customer deductions, and payment-related issues.
• Prepare forecasts and performance reports that help leadership plan purchasing, inventory, staffing, and customer support.

Distribution and Fulfillment Coordination

• Maintain accurate account, product, pricing, order, and project information in NetSuite.
• Coordinate with purchasing, vendors, warehouse operations, logistics, and accounting to keep orders moving.
• Monitor vendor acknowledgments, lead times, special-order materials, inventory allocation, shipping priorities, and delivery dates.
• Ensure backorders, damaged materials, returns, warranty claims, and credits are documented and resolved.
• Review order accuracy, fulfillment results, and recurring delays; implement improvements with the appropriate teams.

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on experience with commercial doors, frames, architectural hardware, and Division 8 project execution.
• Experience supervising or leading a team responsible for commercial accounts, project management, estimating, or order execution.
• Demonstrated success managing major customer relationships and a portfolio of complex projects.
• Strong ability to interpret architectural drawings, door schedules, hardware specifications, and construction documents.
• Experience overseeing takeoffs, quotes, submittals, product alternatives, procurement, and change orders.
• Commercial judgment related to pricing, margins, customer commitments, and project risk.
• Ability to coach others, set priorities, handle escalations, and drive issues to resolution.
• Strong communication, organization, and proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• NetSuite or comparable ERP experience preferred.
• Experience with Allegion, ASSA ABLOY, Hager, Special-Lite, or similar manufacturers highly valued.
