Job Highlights Schedule: PRN as needed Pay Range starts at: $27 per hour; daily pay available Shift Differentials: night, weekend, and additional shifts Job Summary Takes x‑rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and provides support for the imaging department. This position only performs plain films and fluoroscopy. Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include: Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provides appropriate educational material. Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures. Assists technologists with positioning patients for radiology exams. Assists technologists with filing, delivering, and retrieving patient reports and charts, matching films to folders, and delivering reports to patient units/physicians. Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure. Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. Observes patients during procedures and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted. Ensures prompt submission of high‑quality images and documents to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient data/history. Ensures equipment is properly functioning and reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Locks/tag‑out equipment when appropriate. Assists in maintaining a clean, orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage areas, and any other department areas. May perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT technologist is not on site. Works in a constant state of alertness and safety. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Completion of a Radiology Technology program. No experience required. Physical Requirements Constant standing and walking. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more). Frequent use of hearing and speech for oral communication and distinguishing body sounds and alarms. Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0‑25 lbs; frequent lifting of patients. Frequent reaching, gripping, keyboard use/data entry. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25‑50 lbs; occasional use of vision to identify colors. Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Rare kneeling and sitting. Professional Licenses & Certifications Illinois – Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP; American Heart Association), Radiologic Technologist (IEMA or Temporary Accreditation), ARRT‑R Radiography. Missouri – Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP; American Heart Association), ARRT‑R Radiography. Oklahoma – Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP; American Heart Association), ARRT‑R Radiography. Wisconsin – Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP; American Heart Association), Radiographer, Licensed (Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services), ARRT‑R Radiography.
