Job Description

Your Role: Elevating Culinary Excellence
As the Food & Beverage Manager , you'll be supporting the driving force behind our dining experience at Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park . Your leadership, passion, and commitment will ensure exceptional operating results, a thriving team, and consistently delighted guests. Here's what you'll be doing:
Your Responsibilities:
Guest-Centric Service:
Consistency: Deliver professional, friendly, and engaging service to our valued guests. Every interaction matters. Ensure that guests have a positive dining experience by maintaining high standards of service.
Memorable Service: Engage with guests in a professional manner, making them feel welcome and valued
Special Requests: Coordinate and follow up on special guest requests, collaborating seamlessly with colleagues and management teams
Guest Recognition: Manage and build a database of special requests and guests' profiles on Open Table or Host software
Operational Balance: Manage an array of operational, administrative, and colleague needs adeptly
Guest Feedback: Manage and address proper customer complaints and special requests promptly and professionally
System Management:
Policy Adherence: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of company, property, and departmental policies and procedures
Reservation System: Manage the "Open Table" online reservation system efficiently. And be consistent with updating database and reservations
Menu Engineering: Communicate with management feedback from guests for the menu items and experience
Collaboration and Leadership:
Culinary Synergy: Work closely with our talented culinary team to ensure seamless service and an exceptional guest experience
Forecasting and Scheduling: Skillfully manage labor resources oriented towards service standards.
Efficient Operations: Work independently to ensure smooth day-to-day operation without supervision and along with culinary flow
Event and Reservations: Manage waitlists and special events and seating arrangements to maximize efficiency
Team Engagement and Development:
Meetings and Reporting: Attend designated meetings and contribute insights.
Champion Initiatives: Assist with Silverware programming and obtain designated Avero reports
Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing training activities, and spearhead training opportunities for the Food & Beverage Team
Manuals and Standards: Develop trainings and operating procedures to maintain a high-standard sequence of service
Team Management: Continuously engage team members and provide correction, coaching, and counseling when necessary
Corporate Compliance and Accuracy:
Menu and Practices: Ensure compliance with corporate standards in menus and operational practices
Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:
High school Diploma or equivalent education required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
2-4 years of experience in leadership role, or equivalent
Ability to perform and oversee nightly audit functions including balancing daily revenue and posting corrections.
Skilled in handling guest complaints professionally and diplomatically during minimal staffing hours.
Comfortable working independently and making critical decisions without upper management onsite.
Strong knowledge of hotel operations including Front Desk, Concierge, Bell, Guest Services and solid knowledge of front desk protocol and experience working with high profile guests.
Strong knowledge of property management systems such as Opera, SynXis.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Must be observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations.
Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations.
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
Constant standing and walking throughout shift
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
Must be able to twist, tow (push or pull), reach, bend climb and carry objects as necessary.
Additional Information

Compensation : $68,000 - $75,000
Visa Requirements: Successful candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
