Position Overview

Provides and exercises nursing judgment in the care of residents through the nursing process utilizing knowledge obtained from the RN assessment of the resident. This is a professional role and one must conduct self in a professional and respectful manner while administering nursing care and education to the resident and family members, interacting with interdisciplinary healthcare team members and with the community.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Works with the interdisciplinary team to meet resident needs.
• Accurate and efficient documentation of resident care, medication information, medication administration, and change of condition.
• Supervised unlicensed staff and delegation of duties using effective communication techniques.
• Assumes nurse charge responsibility after hours, on weekends, and in the absence of an RN on duty.

Essential Skills and Experience

12 Continuing Education Credits/2 years. CPR Certification. LPN License - MN. Basic computer skills. Word. Patient information database (Cerner, EMR, Matrixcare).

Nonessential Skills and Experience

Caregiver experience preferred.
