Senior AccountantIn partnership with Drew Estate, we are seeking a Senior Accountant to be responsible for ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting for J.Sann & Son, a newly launched cigar brand to include small-batch manufacturing, cigar bar and restaurant, and retail in Miami, FL. You will be responsible for the financial close process, from month-end to year-end, and play a vital role in supporting external audits and the preparation of financial statements.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneralPrepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAPReconcile bank statements, subsidiary ledgers, and other accounts to the general ledgerComplete the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate completionAnalyze financial data and prepare reports to support management decision-makingPrepare journal entries, accrual calculations, and amortization calculations for monthly closeAccurately record intercompany transactions to maintain precise financial records across entitiesParticipate in the budgeting and forecasting process with on-going comparisons of actual performance versus approved budgetAssist with external audits by providing information and documentation to auditorsIntercompany & Transfer PricingEstablishing and documenting the transfer-pricing methodology in coordination with Finance, Tax, Legal, and outside advisorsSetting up and maintaining approved transfer prices in company systemsEnsuring cigars, tobacco, materials, services, labor, freight, warehousing, shared resources, etc. are being transferred at the correct approved pricesManufacturingMaintain manufacturing accounting dataset, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold for cigar productionAssist with inventory transfers and sales between warehouses and related partiesPrepare and analyze federal and state excise tax calculations, accruals, and payment support, including timing differences related to bonded vs tax-paid inventoryHospitalitySupport revenue recognition, daily sales close, and POS-to-GL reconciliation, helping ensure completeness and accuracy of reported salesMonitor and analyze food, beverage, and cigar margins, including purchase price variance, waste, comps, and shrinkE-CommerceSupport recording activity within e-commerce platforms, fulfillment systems, and the posting on the general ledger and ultimate financial reportingAssist with accurate accounting for returns, allowances, and reserves, including consistent policies and documentationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting Finance, or related fieldMinimum 2 years of experience in a finance or accounting roleStrong understanding of GAAPProficiency in financial concepts and reporting standardsProficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Outlook, and ExcelExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred QualificationsCPA or CMA certificationProficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle NetSuite)Prior experience in the manufacturing industry or excise tax environmentKnowledge of inventory management and accounting softwareKnowledge of POS systems such as Toast and their integrations to accounting softwareOfficial Contact InformationEmail: All official emails will come from an @Swisher.com or @drewestate.com addressWebsite: Verify job listings and contact details on or We will never contact you via Teams, Zoom, or Google Meets.
