Family Law Attorney

Our law firm is seeking a family attorney who can assist clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients • Keep client files properly organized and up to date • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action As a Family Law Attorney with us, you will manage a litigation caseload from start to finish, including: • Temporary orders, discovery, and settlement negotiations • Representing clients in hearings and trials • Communicating with clients and third parties with professionalism, empathy, and clarity • Upholding the highest ethical standards Qualifications: • Prior work or studies in criminal justice preferred • Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required • Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required • Washington State bar admission • Washington State family law experience (minimum 3 years) • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Comfort with legal technology • A personable, empathetic, and professional approach • And yes — a sense of humor (because family law is serious work, but we’re human too) Compensation: $150,000 - $300,000 yearly
