Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Implement and lead patients through individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring the highest standards of care.
• Therapeutic Assistance: Facilitate therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional activities tailored to each patient's specific requirements, thus improving mobility and reducing pain levels.
• Rehabilitation Techniques: Employ various modalities such as ultrasound therapy and electrical stimulation, as well as manual therapy techniques, to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
• Progress Monitoring: Diligently document and monitor patient progress, maintaining accurate records as per facility protocols, and keeping the supervising Physical Therapist informed of any significant changes.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on post-treatment home exercise programs and strategies to promote ongoing health and recovery.
• Collaboration: Work alongside an interdisciplinary care team, contributing to cohesive treatment planning and communication to support optimal patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be primarily focused on treating patients who have undergone surgical procedures, injuries, or chronic conditions requiring rehabilitation. Your efforts will aid in their recovery process, allowing them to return to their everyday activities with improved functionality and reduced pain. Building rapport and trust with each patient will be paramount as you guide them through their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Licensure: Valid and active Physical Therapist Assistant license in New York.
• Experience: A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a rehabilitation or skilled nursing facility setting is preferred.
• Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered approach and a keen attention to detail.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience within a hospital setting is highly desirable.
• Experience using physical therapy tools and modalities such as resistance bands, therapeutic ultrasound, and electrical stimulation devices.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
