Director of Human Resources

Job Description:

The Director of Human Resources is a vital member of the HR team responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Office and administration of the College's benefit programs. In addition to serving as a generalist, the Director supports development of the HR team and plans and coordinates HR related events and activities.

Under the direction of the AVP for Human Resources (or designated administrator), the Director performs professional level duties to support compliance with Title V, Title VI and Title IX, including oversight of training, grievances, and related concerns. The Director is also well-versed in data gathering, reporting, and analytics to monitor HR compliance, IPEDS, program performance, trends, and outcomes and to support informed decision making.

Requirements:

Education Required: Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Human Resources or the equivalent.

Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a Human Resource office setting coordinating workers' compensation, recruitment, FMLA, disability, and health-related benefits. Supervisory experience. Knowledge of labor relations, employee-management disputes, negotiating labor contracts and coordinating grievance procedures.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

• Five or more years' experience in a supervisory, managerial, or administrative role.
• Experience in a Community College or higher education environment.
• Experience with UKG or similar HRIS systems.
• PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification.
• Experience with Hirezon/Interview Exchange or similar recruiting systems.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, all college employees, and the public.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Ability to present complex information and data clearly and effectively.
• Ability to travel between the College's two campuses and other assigned locations.
• Bilingual skills.

Salary: $91,000 to $115,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
