Job Overview SCS Global Services'EPD Program has more than 15 years of experience applying rigorous technical standards across diverse industries to Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD). Our team brings deep expertise in sector-specific protocols and complex data analysis, supporting organizations of all sizes, including leading Fortune 500 companies, in Food and Agriculture, Apparel, Manufacturing, Technology, Airlines, Retail, Building Materials, Municipalities, Utilities, and more. The Technical Specialist II, Product Climate Verification is responsible for supporting the Critical Review and Verification of Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), Product Carbon Footprint (PCF), and other schemes relevant to Product Climate Verification. Key responsibilities include reviewing Life Cycle Assessment data and supporting documentation, verifying Environmental Product Declaration data, preparing verification reports, and maintaining clear communication with clients to ensure accuracy and transparency in life cycle reporting. Relevant Standards/Schemes Carbon Footprinting and Project Analysis Carbon Neutral Carbon Neutrality Verification and Certification Environmental Claims Validation ISO 14025 Environmental Labels and Declarations - Type III ISO 14044 Life Cycle Assessments Environmental Management - LCA ISO 14067 Greenhouse Gases - Carbon Footprint of Products ISO 21930 Sustainability in Buildings and Civil Engineering Works Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Product Category Rule (PCR) Carbon Neutrality Verification and Certification Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) ISO 14025 Environmental Labels and Declarations - Type III ISO 14044 Life Cycle Assessments Environmental Management - LCA ISO 14067 Greenhouse Gases - Carbon Footprint of Products ISO 21930 Sustainability in Buildings and Civil Engineering Works Product Carbon Footprint Verification (PCF) Other relevant schemes Essential Duties and Responsibilities Technical Services Complete audits and reports within the prescribed timeline without assistance or input Complete audits by adhering to the agreed timeline, reporting deliverables, and professional requirements Issue verification findings and write audit reports Lead the documentation, communication, and closure of audit findings Communicate in a timely and professional manner with internal staff and external clients Contribute to the development of verification report and verification statement Client Management Direct the audit process with clients Answer client questions and concerns Ensure quality delivery and client satisfaction Develop and maintain relationships with key clients Communicate standard requirements to clients effectively and concisely Quality Management Maintain thorough and current working knowledge of program standards and protocols Recommend and implement program changes as needed to maintain SCS Global’s compliance with ISO quality standards and/or scheme requirements Participate in the internal and external audit process as needed Lead the development of quality templates Assist in updating product literature and documentation including manuals Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable protocols and standards Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field and 4+ years of professional experience in a related field Experience in auditing (Intermediate proficiency) Exceptional quantitative and critical thinking skills for evaluating complex data sets (Advanced proficiency) Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills (Advanced proficiency) Initiative and ability to work independently; responsive and adaptive to team environment (Advanced proficiency) High proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Access (Advanced proficiency) Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in a relevant field and 2+ years of professional experience in a related field Advanced Excel proficiency and experience using data management systems (Intermediate proficiency) Certified LCA Reviewer (CLAR) The above description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
