Assistant Project Manager - Civil Design

The Assistant Project Manager is an entry-level project management position responsible for learning and applying essential duties and responsibilities. The APM provides administrative and construction support to the Project Management team. Responsibilities Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes. Oversee project activities as assigned by the Project Manager, including planning, coordinating, and resolving problem areas while ensuring all company and project policies, procedures, and standards are maintained. Maintain change orders, submittal, and document (drawing) control logs. Prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings. Ensure contract submittals are accurate and timely. Create and issue subcontractor contracts. Assemble and deliver Owner and Maintenance Manuals on schedule. Ensure adherence to the project quality control plan. Interface with subcontractors to obtain correct documentation and drawings for the Owner and Maintenance Manuals. Keep the Warranty Log up to date. Attend company and project meetings with clients, subcontractors, and others, providing project management support. Cooperate with and provide technical assistance to field personnel assigned to the area of responsibility. Monitor other contractors’ activities and progress. Create Job Information Sheets and establish job files. Prepare price change orders, project reports, and documentation. Work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information. Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors, and others. Strong organizational, record‑keeping, and follow‑up skills. Strong attention to detail. Excellence in organization and time‑management skills. Ability to identify and meet customers’ expectations and requirements. Proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); Oracle preferred. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities. Capacity to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude. Strong oral and written communication skills. Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player. Proficiency in interacting professionally with all levels of employees, management, staff, vendors, and clients. What You Bring to Us Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field. Minimum one year of experience in a construction‑related role. Combination of training, education, and relevant work experience that is equivalent to the required experience. Travel Up to 25% travel. Working Conditions The position is performed primarily on active construction sites. Activities include sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending. Work is conducted indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level is typically low to medium. Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs is required.
