Fund Accounting Manager

LHH has partnered with a global investment firm focused on energy transition and infrastructure innovation that is seeking a Fund Accounting Manager to join the team. This role sits at the center of fund accounting, valuation, and portfolio operations, partnering closely with investment professionals, senior finance leadership, and external service providers. The position offers a unique opportunity to work across both fund-level and investment-level activities within a dynamic, multi-strategy platform spanning private equity, credit, and growth investments Responsibilities Partner with investment teams to support transaction execution, capital deployment, and ongoing portfolio monitoring, ensuring accurate recording of investment activity Lead the preparation and review of quarterly portfolio valuations, including analysis of capital structures and application of relevant valuation methodologies (ASC 820) Oversee the production of quarterly and annual financial statements for investment vehicles, working closely with third-party administrators and internal stakeholders Manage liquidity planning and capital activity, including forecasting funding needs, coordinating capital calls, and monitoring credit facilities Analyze fund performance, including returns, attribution, and carried interest waterfall calculations Serve as a key liaison with external partners (audit, tax, fund administration, valuation), ensuring timely and accurate deliverables Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and reporting processes to support a scalable and well-governed platform Mentor and oversee junior team members, supporting development and execution quality across the finance team Support strategic initiatives and ad hoc analysis for senior leadership, including CFO-level reporting and special projects Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline 6–8+ years of experience across public accounting and/or investment management (private equity, credit, venture, or similar) Strong understanding of fund accounting, including capital activity, financial statements, and investor reporting Experience with valuation processes and complex capital structures; familiarity with ASC 820 preferred Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workflows in a fast-paced, deal-oriented environment Experience working cross-functionally with investment teams and external service providers CPA or CFA preferred Prior team leadership or mentorship experience is a plus Advanced Excel skills and comfort with financial systems and fund accounting platforms Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: The California Fair Chance Act Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for EmployersSan Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance This posting is a representative sample of the types of roles we typically place with our clients.
