Labor and Employment Associate

A law firm seeks a dedicated and motivated Labor and Employment Associate to join its team in Austin, TX. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for a mid-senior level associate to work on complex labor and employment law matters, with a focus on class action litigation. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in both employment law and class action litigation, along with a strong desire for trial work. The firm offers a collaborative environment where associates are supported in their professional growth. Duties Handle a variety of labor and employment matters, including employment discrimination, wage and hour claims, and EEOC/DOL investigations. Represent clients in class action lawsuits related to labor and employment issues. Counsel employers on compliance with federal and state employment laws, providing guidance on workplace policies and employee relations. Assist clients in navigating complex employment law matters, from day‑to‑day issues to high‑stakes litigation. Draft and review workplace policies, employee handbooks, and other legal documents to ensure compliance. Participate in trial preparation, legal research, and the drafting of motions and briefs. Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies and deliver high‑quality legal services. Maintain strong communication with clients, providing updates and advice as needed. Requirements 4‑6 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on employment‑related and class‑action litigation. Experience defending employment discrimination, wage and hour claims, and EEOC/DOL investigations. Strong background in counseling employers on employment law compliance and workplace policies. Desire and ability to take on trial work and manage complex litigation matters. Superior legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and independently. Tx Bar admission required. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Certifications Admission to the Texas State Bar is required. Skills Expertise in labor and employment law and class action litigation. Excellent research and legal writing skills.
