Budget Accountant

Job Description One of the nation’s oldest and largest non-profit organizations, The Amateur Athletic Union of the U. S., Inc. (AAU), is seeking a full-time Budget Accountant for our Finance Department. The AAU is located in beautiful Lake Buena Vista, FL. The Budget Accountant is responsible for: Develop, present, and oversee financial budgets for General and Sports Funds on an annual and quarterly basis. Ensure all budgets and financial processes align with company goals. Collaborate with department heads to set budget goals and ensure they’re followed. Evaluate budget proposals and financial requests for viability. Forecast financial needs throughout the year. Track results and comparing them to key financial targets. Prepare cost estimates and plans, while providing necessary reporting, documentation, and financial assessments. Explain complex financial data clearly. Develop and maintain an accurate record-keeping system. Identify, flag, and analyze potential financial and budgetary risks. Provide financial summaries, reports, and recommendations as needed. Ensure all financial decisions and records adhere to legal regulations. Assist CFO and Director of Finance with special projects. Monitor all contracts for compliance and renewal dates. Investigative and/or research skills. Stellar dependability. Ability to multi-task. Demonstrated ability of computer systems including Microsoft Office. Experience with Sage 100 (preferred). Be goal oriented and self-directed. Ability to interpret information. Ability to see big picture. Advanced Excel skills (required). Four year college degree in accounting or finance (required). 2-3 years accounting/finance experience (required). In office work environment. Ability to pass background check.
