Posted: September 4, 2026 Summary SUMMARY: Under close supervision, performs a variety of laboratory tests in multiple areas within the department. Incumbentsreceiveclosesupervisionandconsiderableguidanceinthedevelopmentoflaboratoryskillsand inperformingrequiredtestsandprocedures.Performsrelateddutiesasrequired. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.- Maintainsadequaterecordssuchas:worksheets,logs,inventorylists,QCchecklists, andotherasneededdata.
- Performspreventativemaintenanceonlaboratoryequipment;performsqualitycontrol testsandcalibrationsoninstrumentsusedintestingprocedures.
- Performsrequiredtestingofspecimensfollowingstandardizedproceduresandpolicies adoptedbythelaboratory.
- Preparesandmaintainsproperreagents,controls,andstandardsusedinthe individualstestprocedures.
- Receives,logs,andprocessesspecimensasrequiredbyeachareaofthelaboratory.
- Supervisesandoverseesworkperformedbylaboratoryassistantsandclinical laboratorytrainees.
