Key Responsibilities\n

• Establish and cultivate trusting relationships with clients, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for emotional exploration.

• Conduct thorough assessments of students’ mental health needs, utilizing evidence-based tools to diagnose and develop comprehensive care plans.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focusing on coping strategies, social skills development, and emotional regulation.

• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and school personnel to identify at-risk students and create strategies to support them in the educational environment.

• Adhere to professional ethical standards and follow Mindfulbear Counseling Center's code of conduct, ensuring integrity and confidentiality in all client interactions.

• Participate in regular team meetings, contributing insights and strategies to enhance team performance and client outcomes.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of client interactions and progress for compliance and quality improvement reviews.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention as necessary, quickly assessing situations and determining the best course of action to ensure student safety.

• Coordinate with families, educators, and external resources to facilitate access to additional support services and resources.

• Engage in professional development and continuing education opportunities to stay current with industry practices and improve your skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position serves a diverse population of children and adolescents exhibiting a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and adjustment disorders. You will work closely with students from various backgrounds, promoting inclusivity and cultural competency in all interactions.

Qualifications\n

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field is mandatory.

• Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification in the state of New York.
