Role Overview

Financial Modeling Analysts in venture capital focus on the quantitative and analytical foundation of investment decision-making. The role emphasizes building and maintaining financial models for early- and growth-stage companies, supporting valuation analysis, scenario planning, and portfolio monitoring.

Analysts work closely with investment partners, associates, and founders to translate business strategies into financial projections and actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain financial models for early-stage and growth-stage startups

• Analyze revenue models, unit economics, burn rates, and runway scenarios

• Support due diligence through financial statement review and forecasting analysis

• Assist with valuation frameworks, cap table modeling, and dilution analysis

• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses for investment decision-making

• Track portfolio company financial performance and key operating metrics

• Prepare financial sections of investment memos and internal reports

• Support fundraising analysis, follow-on investment planning, and exit modeling

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, or a related analytical discipline

• Strong interest in venture capital, startup finance, and financial modeling

• Experience in investment banking, equity research, consulting, transaction advisory, FP&A, or venture internships is helpful

• Proficiency in Excel or financial modeling tools; comfort working with assumptions and imperfect data

• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

• Clear written and verbal communication skills

• Curious, structured, and comfortable working with founders and investment teams
