Registered Nurse (RN) - Internal Medicine - $32-48 per hour

Job Title RN Internal Medicine Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient – Nights Location East Alton, Illinois Overview Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five‑county area since 1937. It has grown into a full‑service acute care hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery, medical imaging, cardiology, oncology, rehabilitation, 24‑hour emergency care, and ambulance services. Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and families on managing illness or injury, including post‑treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Engages in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with interprofessional team members and patients or families. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs. Maintains constant state of alertness and works safely as a safety‑sensitive position. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Experience: None required. Licenses & Certifications: RN license. Preferred Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Experience: Less than 2 years of nursing experience.
