Senior Java Backend Developer

Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java backend applications and services .
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
- Design and implement efficient backend architectures with a focus on scalability, performance, security, and maintainability .
- Develop database solutions using SQL and relational databases .
- Troubleshoot application, API, database, and production issues.
- Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to other developers.
- Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-tested code.
- Develop unit and integration tests and participate in overall application quality initiatives.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, architects, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, application deployments, and production releases.
- Identify opportunities for improving application performance, reliability, and development processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of professional software development experience with strong hands-on experience in Java.
- Strong proficiency in Java 8+ , including object-oriented programming, collections, multithreading, exception handling, and Java APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Spring MVC .
- Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices .
- Good understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems .
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL .
- Experience with JPA/Hibernate or similar ORM technologies.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito , or similar testing frameworks.
- Strong understanding of Git and software development best practices.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with distributed technical teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud .
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes .
- Knowledge of Kafka or other messaging/event-streaming technologies .
- Experience with Redis or other caching technologies .
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps .
- Experience with application monitoring and observability tools.
- Understanding of OAuth2, JWT, API security, and secure coding practices .
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization of backend services.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
