Shift: 8 AM-5 PM | Monday-Friday

Step into a Payroll Accountant position in Pomona and support daily payroll accounting tasks with detail, accuracy, and a touch of magic.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of payroll experience required
• At least 1 year of owner-operator or independent contractor trucking payroll experience preferred
• Strong understanding of 1099 reporting, independent contractor classifications, and settlement statements
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data reconciliation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of payroll data accurately
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Customer-service mindset when working with drivers and internal teams
• Excellent communication skills and ability to resolve payroll-related issues professionally
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced transportation and logistics environment

Job Duties:

• Process weekly settlement-based payroll for owner-operators and independent contractors
• Calculate driver settlements, including line-haul revenue, fuel surcharges, accessorials, detentions, and layovers
• Apply and track deductions such as fuel advances, equipment leases, insurance premiums, maintenance costs, and escrow accounts
• Reconcile driver pay against carrier contracts, load information, and rate confirmations
• Respond to driver inquiries regarding settlements, deductions, and account balances in a professional manner
• Generate payroll, earnings, deductions, and profitability reports for management review
• Collaborate with dispatch, operations, and accounting teams to resolve payroll discrepancies
• Maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation
• Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payment processing
• Stay current on trucking industry payroll regulations and best practices
