Medical Technologist

Title: Medical Technologist
Duration: 3 months contract + Possibility of Extension
Location: Needham Heights, MA
Shift: M-F 3:25 PM - 11:55 PM (with rotating weekends & holidays)

Roles & Responsibilities:
Perform moderate- and high-complexity laboratory testing in accordance with federal, state, CAP, and organizational standards.
Conduct laboratory analyses in:
Chemistry
Hematology
Morphology
Urinalysis
Serology
Bacteriology
Analyze blood, urine, body fluids, and other patient specimens to identify normal and abnormal findings.
Perform microscopic evaluations and accurately identify and enumerate red and white blood cells.
Operate laboratory instrumentation and analyzers used in complex diagnostic testing.
Interpret and correlate test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical presentation.
Recognize abnormal findings and communicate results according to established procedures.
Support and complete CAP Survey Attestation requirements.
Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
Verify proper instrument functionality through calibration, testing, and quality assurance procedures.
Collaborate effectively with pathologists, physicians, laboratory professionals, and healthcare staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in:
Medical Technology
Clinical Laboratory Science
Chemical Science
Physical Science
Related Laboratory Science discipline
Degree must be obtained from an accredited institution.
Ability to perform moderate- and high-complexity laboratory testing.

Preferred Qualifications:
ASCP Medical Technologist (MT) or MLS Certification strongly preferred.
Two (2) or more years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
Experience with chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology testing.
Experience troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation and analyzers.
Strong understanding of laboratory quality control and regulatory compliance standards.
