We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Junior Estimator to support our Estimating Team. This role will assist in analyzing drawings and specifications, compiling cost data, and supporting the overall estimating process - building a strong foundation in construction pricing, cost control, and project planning. Key Responsibilities: Review drawings, specifications, and other project documents to support estimate development Perform quantity takeoffs and assist in preparing detailed cost estimates Compile and analyze data from various sources, including historical cost data, material pricing, and internal cost data Maintain organized backup documentation for all estimates Support estimate updates, revisions, and cost comparisons throughout the preconstruction process Attend pre-bid meetings and assist in scope review and clarification Perform additional assignments as needed to support the estimating team Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field (or equivalent technical training) Internship or prior exposure to construction or estimating preferred Basic understanding of construction divisions, methods, materials, and cost drivers Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required Preferred: Experience with On-Screen Takeoff (OST) or similar, Quickbid, Bluebeam and/or Adobe Strong analytical and mathematical skills High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong verbal and written communication skills In addition to tremendous potential with a growing organization, we offer you: Competitive total rewards package Robust health and dental plan 401k plan with employer contribution Generous PTO Disability and Life Insurance at no expense to you Matching non-profit grant program Learning and development opportunities Annual Bonus eligibility EEO Statement: TJ McCartney provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy or maternity, national origin, citizenship, genetic information, disability, protected veteran, gender identity, age or any other status protected by law.
