Registered Nurse (RN), Gynecology — Clinical Triage & Care Coordination
WWC Gynecology & Aesthetics | Waldorf and Brandywine, MD | Full-time | Reports to: Medical Director

About the role
WWC Gynecology & Aesthetics is a physician-led practice serving women across Southern Maryland and the DC metro area. We're looking for an RN to be the clinical hub between our providers, medical assistants, and patients. You'll keep results, prescriptions, and orders moving so patients get answers quickly and providers can stay focused on visits and procedures. This is primarily a desk-based clinical role, not a rooming or floor position.

What you'll do

• Review incoming lab and pathology results, sign off on normal results per practice protocol, and escalate abnormal or critical values to the provider the same day
• Communicate results and next steps to patients, and document all contact in the EMR
• Send prescriptions for treatment (e.g., common infections, contraception) under provider-approved standing orders
• Process prescription refill requests per protocol, including chart review for visit and screening currency, and route exceptions to the provider
• Enter orders for imaging (pelvic ultrasound, mammography, DEXA, etc.) per provider direction or protocol, and track them through to result
• Work the clinical task queue daily: patient portal messages, phone triage, pharmacy callbacks, and prior authorization clinical questions
• Serve as the liaison between medical assistants and providers: answer MA clinical questions, decide what needs provider attention, and relay provider instructions clearly
• Support MA training and help maintain clinical protocols and workflows

Required qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Maryland RN license (or compact license with Maryland privileges)
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an outpatient or ambulatory setting
• Hands-on experience with an EMR, including result management, e-prescribing, and order entry
• Current BLS certification

Preferred

• GYN or women's health experience
• Telephone triage experience
• Experience with ModMed
• Familiarity with menopause care or hormone therapy

What makes someone good at this
You're comfortable making judgment calls within a protocol and know when to escalate. You close loops: no result sits unreviewed, no patient message goes unanswered. You communicate plainly with patients and directly with colleagues.

Schedule
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, [Monday–Friday]. No nights, weekends, or on-call. [Primary location / covers both locations]
