Care Partner (CNA) - Emergency Room - Full Time 12 Hour Night Shift (Union)

Job Overview The Care Partner provides nursing staff support in the areas of patient care delivery, clerical functions, organization of the unit environment, and set‑up and maintenance of equipment. The emphasis depends on the unit assigned. Minimum Qualifications & Requirements Current California Certified Nurse Assistant certification (California Department of Public Health) OR enrollment in an accredited nursing program with completion of “Fundamentals of Nursing” course (B or better) OR completion of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program from a foreign country or the U.S. OR medical training in military services. Six months to one year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting (preferred). OR active enrollment in an accredited nursing program. Ability to pass a 4‑hour USC Verdugo Hills Hospital Electronic Health Record data entry training course. Understanding of basic medical terminology and abbreviations (preferred). Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are competing requirements and a heavy workload. Maintain a current California Certified Nurse Assistant certification (California Department of Public Health) or be verified as enrolled/completed a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program, or have completed medical training in military services, or have received the above license(s) from a foreign country or the U.S. Individuals who graduate or drop out of an accredited nursing program will be suspended from work and given 30 calendar days to re‑enroll or obtain a California Certified Nurse Assistant Certification. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association. AB508 (Management of Assaultive Behavior) certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration. Compensation Hourly rate: $23.00 – $30.87.
