Title: Commercial Litigation Associate

Salary: $150k-$200k/yr

Location: Coral Gables, FL (hybrid)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join our firms litigation team. The successful candidate will handle complex commercial and business disputes with an emphasis on real estate, banking, and finance matters. This role requires developing and executing litigation strategy, managing discovery, drafting pleadings and motions, counseling clients on risk and resolution options, and representing clients in hearings, mediations, and trials. The associate will work closely with partners and senior attorneys to deliver highquality legal services and contribute to business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse docket of commercial litigation matters, including business disputes, real estate litigation, banking and finance cases.
• Draft and file complaints, answers, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other court documents with precision and timeliness.
• Conduct factual and legal research, analyze complex transactional and regulatory issues, and prepare persuasive legal memoranda and client advisories.
• Oversee and coordinate all phases of discovery: document collection and review, interrogatories, requests for production, and depositions.
• Prepare witnesses for depositions and take depositions of parties, experts, and third parties; support trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.
• Counsel clients on litigation strategy, risk assessment, settlement options, and potential business impacts, maintaining professional and responsive client communication.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Collaborate with partners and crossfunctional teams, supervising junior associates and paralegals as needed to deliver efficient case management.
• Contribute to business development and client retention through relationship management, pitch work, and thought leadership (articles, presentations).
• Maintain uptodate knowledge of relevant case law, statutes, and industry practices in commercial, real estate, banking, and finance law.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in which the candidate will practice.
• 3+ years of litigation experience with a strong focus on commercial/business litigation; experience handling real estate, banking, or finance matters preferred.
• Proven experience with motion practice, discovery management, depositions, and trial preparation; courtroom experience is a strong plus.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to distill complex issues into clear advice for clients and courts.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of finance, banking, and real estate transactions and disputes.
• Ability to manage a heavy caseload, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Demonstrated client service skills, professional judgment, and ability to work collaboratively within a team and mentor junior staff.
• Comfortable with business development activities, including client pitches, networking, and contributing to publications or presentations.
• Willingness to bill client hours accurately and work occasional extended hours as case needs require.
