About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 4 x 12-hour shifts per week | 48 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care / Stepdown unit setting
• Monitor and assess patients requiring an intermediate level of care between ICU and general medical-surgical floors
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and established protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a compact state
• Current BLS certification
• Prior experience in a PCU, IMC, or Stepdown unit
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Familiarity with high-acuity progressive care patient populations
