We are seeking an experienced healthcare office professional to join a growing medical consulting firm as a Patient Account Representative. This is a hybrid position - a blend of remote and in-office work at their San Antonio, TX location.

We are seeking individuals with strong healthcare revenue cycle management backgrounds, including: credit balance, refunds, accounts receivable and payment posting professionals.

Patient Account Representative - Schedule: Monday - Friday 8a-4:30p

Patient Account Representative - Hybrid Schedule/Location:

• 1st 60-90 days onsite for training M-F and then transition to 2 days in-office, 3 days remote
• Office address is located in San Antonio, TX

Patient Account Representative - Ideal Backgrounds:

• Credit balance/refunds
• Payment Posting
• Accounts Receivable/denials

Patient Account Representative - Day to Day:

• Research and resolve patient credit balance accounts resulting from overpayments, duplicate payments, financial assistance adjustments, or insurance reprocessing.
• Analyze overpayments, duplicate payments, coordination of benefits (COB), retro eligibility, and contractual adjustment discrepancies.
• Collaborate with billing, cash posting, denial management, and patient access teams to resolve account discrepancies.
• Process patient refunds accurately and timely in accordance with client policies and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate with patients regarding refund status, account balances, and payment discrepancies professionally and compassionately.
• Maintain accurate, clear, concise and complete account notes and other relevant information.
• Resolve unidentified payments through research.
• Aim to have patient accounts balance to zero prior to accounts being forwarded to an outside agency for collections.
• Payment prep and posting.
• Prep payment batch before keying by identifying and circling invoices. Separate payments by groups.
• Follow protocol for posting payments, denials, and adjustments to invoices in all groups.
• Balance all groups back to batch total.
• Sign batch back in on payment batch log with time completed.
• Research payments.
• Payments requiring additional information should be pulled out from the batch for research. If the pullout is not resolved in two business days it should be given to the Supervisor for follow up.
• Research payments posted to unapplied invoices to identify location to refund.
• Verify with the Lead or Supervisor before putting payments on an unapplied invoice.
• Review of statements. Review billing statements in lockboxes for address corrections and credit card payments.
